Walking on the Hill of Uisneach with the other men, all of whom had been called by a purpose significantly greater than your usual good time, or curious diversion, sank me into the Dreamtime quicker and more profoundly than I can easily remember. A timeless, authentic lineage of time and place inhabited me - without anything verifiably "significant" happening. I was uplifted, encouraged and strengthened by the experience. I can't wait to do it again! (Jonno)

I think it should be done every year from now. Because it was so beautiful. The
journey was very good and walking the first part in silence made a lot of
difference. I could hear the bees and the birds singing and the cows too. It was
beautiful and pleasant. And when we all got together shoulder to shoulder on the
top it changed everything. I never seen it before. I really enjoyed every bit of
it. Thanking you. Till we meet again. God bless. (Larry Sheppard, 67)

Last time I went for walk like this I was in my 20's. It was good to have the
car. I was glad to walk the last bit of the way. I enjoyed the walk and the
drums and I would go again. (Joe Trumble, 74)

There's something in the Irish male psyche that continually draws us and connects us to the Great Mother, the Goddess....the Mammy. This however hasn't always been a good thing for either concerned! Mother becomes Smother and the young man becomes the eternal boy. So with the slim pickings of truly positive male rituals, it is a powerful gift to have encountered something that facilitates our coming into right relationship with our masculinity and bringing that healthy masculine energy to the Heart of this Goddess-land. And it's as simple as walking the land with a drum in your hand! Diomas.... (Enda)

It was very good. I didn't think there will be so many people but I even made
some new friends there. I was tired at the end of the day but it helped my
sleep. I really enjoyed the day out. (Tom Ward, 78)

I continue to be aware of this unusual impression knowing that whatever I'm going to do today or tomorrow just won't compare with what I became part of on that special day. (Honza)

I actually started writing about it all when I got back to Mayo, the inspiration was still high! A wonderful day, great company and an excellent energy!.....thought it was mighty fitting to host the event the week before midsummer too, excellent to gather at the sacred center before spreading out to our respective corners to celebrate midsummer. (Bryan)

(To John & all the organisers of the superb day on the Hill of Uisneach)
A simple day
An open invite to explore
All boundaries of our human soul
Both covering the outside
Never revealing our inner conscience
Or spirit

I came to the hill a weary traveller
Both emotionally and soul
Searching, more

I was embraced
Welcomed home to Eire
By the love and peace of all
Who attended

I came down the hill
An eternal peaceful warrior
Of Eire
